This is the Drone Shadows protest art of James Bridle. The numerous pieces, spread across various locations, are designed to give public perspective to the unmanned aircrafts that controversially offer surveillance and militarisation to some of the world's most politically or geographically complex areas.
Each piece is a 1:1 outline replica of a model of drone, giving passers-by a tangible view of an otherwise distant threat.
As of late last year, the outlines have been expanded into an accompanying book, DIY Drone Shadows Handbook, which gives anyone the designs to draw one themselves. It can be downloaded for free here.
In Pakistan alone, an estimated 2,851 people died, between 1994 and 2013, from United States drone attacks.
